Many many moons ago, I was born and raised in southern California. Then moved to the western suburbs of Chicago in the late 60's. I currently live in on the Westbank of New Orleans. I've been working as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher for about 30 years now. 15 of those years in Illinois and 15 right here in Louisiana. I have a the most wonderful husband Frank, who I met on the internet, and a son, Mike, who's the coolest son a mom could ever want. In December 2006 he received his degree in Film, Theater & Communications Arts at the University of New Orleans. His passion is directing film. I had started writing in the early/mid 90's, but life got in the way. In 1999, I met my husband Frank on the internet, and shortly there after the writing bug bit again. Researching at the RWA site, I found SOLA - Southern Louisiana chapter of RWA. What a wonderful bunch of writers!! After attending my first RWA Conference in New Orleans, I became a Co-Program Director with Jaimie Bergeron. It was fun planning 18 months of speakers for our meetings. Which by the way, are the third Saturday of each month. If you're in the New Orleans area, feel free to stop by and say hi! Meeting information can be found on SOLA's website.
I am also a member of FTHRW and FF&P. Tho I mostly lurk there, I enjoy reading all the postings and visiting the websites and members websites. I am currently writing a time-travel series. Six books in all are at various stages. I keep telling myself that I need to start those dreaded synopses, but still haven't the courage :) My hobbies include, reading my favorite authors, cross stitch, crocheting, gardening and cooking. Tho for the last year, all of the above have been put by the wayside. Hurricane Katrina turned my 600+ romance books to mush, ( and my TBR pile floated around the house *grin*) cross-stitch & crocheting stuff covered in gook. Rebuilding my TBR pile is fun! I'm gathering my favorite authors and finding new favorite authors. Enjoy your visit to my site and I'd love to have you sign my guestbook!
